The Specialists sticky shows several workshops in Gloucestershire.
Who would you use for dismantling, removal of old original grease, then replace with synthetic grease.
A fiddly job, and not something on the service schedule, so main dealers probably have little experience.

The wiper is working perfectly, but I doubt that proper lubrication is now taking place, so wear is probably occuring.

Thank you.

All depends on the year, I think that before 1993 you need to remove the entire linkage from the car, after 1993 you just pop off the plastic cover.

Thank you for your reply.

It is a W208.

This video describes an earlier, then later version of the single wiper mechanism, so presumably mine is the later, unless it was changed again.

I did know about removing the plastic cover to lubricate the push rod, but as described in the video, the 'killer' seems to be further down, where there are cogs and toothed wheels. Once the grease becomes old and solid, the teeth run unlubricated, therefore eventually leading to premature failure. Have owned the car for years and everything works very well. Not worth much, but still an enjoyable car, so thought it might be sensible to consider wiper maintenance, given that it does seem prone to failure.

Just need to find a UK specialist, as knowledgeable and good as the man in the film.
