C180 timing chain gone

Afternoon all,
After any helpful comments from anyone.
I have a 14 year old C180 as my work shed, 102k, 9 stamps in the book, very tidy, so I want to save it if possible, although probably only worth £1500.
Timing chain went as I started the car, drove it about 10 ft then stopped as I knew something was wrong.
Issue is mixed info from 2 garages, 1 says as it's a chain unlikely to have caused any damage & about £800 fix, they don't have the tools thou.
No 2 says 4 hours labour to get to it, 11 hours to take the top off so that's a write off.
Which is more likely to be right please?
