Mercedes website- is it me?
Discussion
Currently trying to see if there's anything of interest on the Mercedes UK website; and it's appalling...
Very slow to load - have tried 3 different browsers, resetting wifi etc - and then when you're finally on the used cars some of the filters seem to have a mind of their own (select an AMG 63 engine and all AMGs appear) and when you see a car you like there's only one exterior picture and no list of options etc
So looks like there are going to be some calls to dealers wasting their time and mine to confirm, or otherwise, whether the car is what I'm after for simple stuff that should be on the site.
Do they really test these sites???

You just wait until you get inside a Merc - electronics with surely the most non-intuitive interface ever invented. And that's before you even get to the Driver's Manual; a paper book as thick as a dictionary containing nothing but safety warnings and directing every question to the onboard electronic manual.
Now then, so what about that onboard electronic manual - sounds quick and easy. Nooooo, don't you believe it. Can't be accessed at all unless the car is stationary and parked - so there's no way your passenger can look anything up while you're driving. And when you do finally get to use it the indexing is hopeless - but that's only the beginning of your woes. The whole system is a slow thing from Planet Slow.
Put simply, if you want to know anything about a modern Mercedes the best way to find out is on Youtube.

Do you mean the used car bit as that's currently down for maintenance so could have been the reason you had issues? If you mean the main site, runs really well for me, super fast. I mean design wise, sure it's not the best but it runs fine!Very slow to load - have tried 3 different browsers, resetting wifi etc - and then when you're finally on the used cars some of the filters seem to have a mind of their own (select an AMG 63 engine and all AMGs appear) and when you see a car you like there's only one exterior picture and no list of options etc

I would argue that the interface is perfectly easy to use, it's not fast in anything pre-MBUX, however it's easy to find stuff? Now then, so what about that onboard electronic manual - sounds quick and easy. Showing as down for maintenence. So perhaps you got unlucky?Very slow to load - have tried 3 different browsers, resetting wifi etc - and then when you're finally on the used cars some of the filters seem to have a mind of their own (select an AMG 63 engine and all AMGs appear) and when you see a car you like there's only one exterior picture and no list of options etc

I agree - it is a hateful thing. I’d quite like to buy a Merc but the website puts me off almost as much as the dreadful local dealership.
There’s normally loads of pictures for each used car, but for some reason, they don’t seem to list the spec of cars. It’s therefore impossible to tell if there are any extras.
My advice is work out which dealer groups have sites you’d be willing to travel to and use their own websites. They also seem much more up to date, with lots of stock that never makes it onto the main Merc site.
