Evening all.
Had my Air Con re-gassed 2 years.
Today, blowing mostly hot.
Is this normal after 2 years.
I know the recommendation is have it done every 2 years, but our BMW hadn’t been done for ages nor has my Hilux.

My C63 doesn’t get used much really, perhaps not running the system helps it deplete quicker.

Any pointers would be most welcome.

Dave.

Not ideal when it's 30 degrees. Hopefully just a slow leak from a seal and not a ruptured condensor.

AC systems do like to be used all year round, at least once a fortnight ideally, to keep o-rings lubed and supple.

A specialist will diagnose for you. They will extract any remaining refrigerant, pressure test for leaks and add fresh refrigerant - £60 at Kwik-Fit.

I had this last year on my W204. The AC light won’t stay on turned out to be a faulty condenser which was replaced under warranty

Can anyone recommend a mobile AC company around the New Forest Area.

Uho, never seem to use mine but stuck in gridlocked London traffic on the hottest day of the year, I though yes, let's use the AC.

It blew hot air.

Old BMW.

I was soaked through by the time I got to our destination.

Why on earth wouldn’t you use air con every time the car is driven? It’s not as if it’s new tech so people don’t understand that it has to be run.

My guess/hope is the OP has a leaking seal that has dried out through lack of use.

Will book my car in soon to have system re gassed and checked.

I’ve ordered a UV light to check for leaks in the meantime, but not sure if the gas in there will show up...!!!!!!
If it’s the UV gas or not that was put in last time, don’t know much about AC systems.

I suspect it's probably your condenser.

Condenser...!!!!
Is that expensive to replace.
Car has only done 22,000 miles.

Four figures at a dealer, best get it diagnosed properly though as it's an expensive gamble!

It's a difficult one, we're not allowed to do dye testing anymore which is annoying as it was an easy(ish) way to diagnose a leaky condenser without the faff off taking off all the components around it, which is half the battle as it's quite well burried in your car, although stone's can unfortunately still find their way in. It could be the tiniest of pinpricks, or an obvious hole.

Ah, ok.
Thanks for the help.
I will just go for the regas and see what happens after that is done. Hopefully that’s all it needs.
Cheers.
