Mercedes dealer prices are a joke...!!!!!

Bit of a moan really.
As per my previous quote re gearbox oil.
A few posts from this one, had that job done now, all good. Not by Mercedes though.

While car was on lift, mechanic pointed out I had an oil leak from round engine sump gasket, he showed me, nothing major, but needed doing.

Seeing as my car was booked into Salisbury Mercedes Benz for B service next week, I thought I would ring them for a price.

The mechanic said he could do it while car was in the air, but seeing as service was due, there was no point really, as oil would be changed anyway.
Probably an hours work.

Anyway, the cost from Mercedes was £600, 6.4 hrs to do job.

What the he’ll, it’s only a leaky gasket, apparently a common problem that can lead to a much bigger bill....!!!!!! If not dealt with straight away.

Car by the way is a C63 V8 model.
I know they are not the cheapest C Class to maintain, but, Christ almighty....!!!!!
It’s only so new gasket sealant basically.

For the gearbox oil change & filter etc.

£200 all in.

I have a couple of other dealers ringing back tomorrow Re oil leak price, to see if it’s possible Salisbury Mercedes have made a mistake with the price.

If not, then service will be done & oil leak sorted where I got the gearbox done.

They are a well known Mercedes specialist.

Such a difference in price. I’ve got a C63 as well so trying to keep abreast with maintenance costs

Absolutely.
I might be selling mine next year, been there done that sort of thing, what’s next..!!!!
So, be good to get these things done.
