CLS gearbox issue

My 55 plate 500CLS has developed an odd habit. Sometimes when manoeuvring, it will not go from drive to reverse. I have to turn off the engine, put it in park, fire it up again to be able to engage reverse. Has anyone come across this before and is it an easy fix?

It's not a major problem for me, but I might be selling it soon and potential buyers will be offput.

When did you last have the gearbox oil changed?

Errr...not in the 4 years & 10k miles I've owned it.

Start with the gearbox oil and filter, i think its due every 3 years. It might be something more expensive but the oil change would be my starting point.
