Hey guys considering a used A35 for a little over 30k.

Seems to be quick and comfortable enough for all the use cases I'd need it for, without encouraging me to drive like a hooligan.

Just wanted to know what the consensus on here is, and if anyone has actually got one and what it was like to live with??

We have a Dec 2019 saloon, great car + really good to drive. Nice noise on downshift when using the paddles in sport+

WLTP GPF / PPF killing the exhaust sound! Also killing the silly farting noises.

Had our A35 just over 12 months and done just under 9000 miles. It's on a two year lease and to be honest have not bonded with the car.

Build quality is poor. Friend has an A35 too and we both have the same interior rattles. Dealer had the car two weeks trying to fix the rattles and triple air bag failures. Car still rattles. Given up and wife has nick named the car 'Rattly'.

The loan car was a e300 coupe and a completely different quality of build. Would have a C43 but not another A35.

The car is very quick. It replaced a 280BHP Scirocco R and is so much quicker. The A35 is surefooted and comfortable too. The dash is brilliant and the centre display very easy to use. Fuel economy is on par with the Scirocco R at about 31-32 MPG.

The lane assist is shocking and to be honest - dangerous. It throws you off a slip road and back onto e.g. a dual carriageway. A long term review in Top Gear mag confirms they hated the system too on this car. You can turn it off but have to do so through the menus each time you turn it on.

Hopefully it will be replaced June 21 with a Golf R. Wife's last few cars have been VW/Audi and she wants to go back purely for build quality and to get away from the dodgy lane assist.

The only time I'll miss the A35 will be on twisty B roads when this car shines, pops, bangs ....and rattles.
