I’m looking at buying a used E400D Coupé with Premium Plus spec.
Are there other desirable extras that are worth trying to source in a used car or does Premium Plus just about cover all the bases ?

Although I’m looking at E400Ds , I can’t help but think that the same model with the older E350
V6 engine looks like great value.

Any PH owners of either engine care to comment on them ?

I can’t help with the engine (I’ve got an E350 cabriolet) but it does have the premium plus pack, and also the driver assistance pack or whatever it’s called. Adaptive cruise and a load of other stuff. Well worth it IMO

Thanks, the Driving assistance package isn’t on any of the prem plus coupes on Autotrader.
Most of them are Premium Plus and don’t mention anything else.
Growing up when cars with electric windows were something, I’m sure I can scrape by with PP spec !

You won’t be unhappy with the premium plus pack. I can’t remember exactly what’s in it, but I’m pretty sure The big things are the COMAND nav, Burmeister sound system (which sounds pretty good, even in the convertible), comfort access (which I’m not that fussed about), the 360 degree camera stuff (which is great) and in the coupe/saloon/estate a panoramic roof.

A car with Night Pack is well worth seeking out, it transforms the look of the car.

I bought an E400d Coupe last year and I love it. The engine is smooth as silk and most of the time you don’t really know you’re driving a diesel. Mine has the premium plus pack, if I was picky I think I’d want to have the adaptive cruise, but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker if I was buying again. The night pack is a matter of personal preference and looks better with some colours. Rubenite Red not being one of them, which is what mine is. Fuel economy is really good, at 70mph in 9th gear it’s at just under 1200rpm and I’ve managed to get the onboard mpg to show 58mpg On a long motorway run. 20 inch wheels are far from forgiving when it comes to potholes, but look so much better than the 19s, so you just have to accept the ride not being quite as good. Air suspension might help with this, but it’s not essential. Hope this helps.
