Warranties and the shutdowns
Discussion
My service got cancelled.
I phoned the dealer today, still closed, the massage says look on Jardine's website, which is totally unhelpful and pretty much shows the contempt the dealer has for their customers that they cant even be bothered to man one phone.
I found this particularly interesting.
Q: Will my warranty be affected if my service is not carried when it is due?
A: We are currently in discussions with our manufacturer partners to understand the warranty implications if service work is not conducted in time. We are running a reduced team to support with essential maintenance needs. Please do contact your dealer directly to discuss your requirements.
Q: My vehicle warranty expires in the next few days. If there is an issue with my car will you extend the warranty until I am able to schedule a check with you?

Oddly can't find Mercedes' own link now, but the Smart one, which contains:
"Servicing
If you’re unable to attend a service appointment when your car’s service is due, we’ve implemented a temporary revised limit for overdue services:
For Mercedes-Benz cars, the limit has increased to the sooner of 180 days past the current due date for a service to be completed or the vehicle reaching the 3,728 mileage interval for a service to be completed (previously 90 days / 1,864 mileage interval)."
is here:

I don't know how much work they're doing, but quite a lot of MB dealers are open to some extent for servicing. They're supposed to be supporting key workers, so it's not very helpful if they don't answer the 'phone.

Merc Dartford serviced my C63 a few weeks back (their new site and very impressive too). Booked approx 5 days before via the Mercedes Me portal. I'm not a key worker and this was a B service on my service plan. Dropped the car off at 9am and it was ready by 12pm + washed and vacuumed. I was quite surprised because in the past I've had to book weeks in advance.
I just managed to get someone at Mercedes Chelmsford to answer the phone, The main reason I bought the car from them was because they are on my way to work, they are not contacting customers who's service they cancelled, they can service my car mid July but no curtesy cars and no collections, but apparently Mercedes have extended warranties by 120 days. Time to find someone else to service it

My AC has packed up on my 18 month old E class - I've tried Stratstone's Leeds and they can't even book me in and will "call me back".
First world problem etc but that's a bit st.
Try Mobilo? If they accept it as a fault then you might get a courtesy car.First world problem etc but that's a bit st.
The weather's about to cool down quite a bit though.

Well to be 100% honest I have done 6.9 miles in the car since March 7th so it's hardly important. My irritation is that they seem to be using this business as an excuse to just provide a st service - there must be a lot of owners out there with issues that are important and who actually need their cars. The weather's about to cool down quite a bit though.
We are only going to the shops etc so the OHs SLK is a far better choice.
I'd probably be better off going to some central MB service centre - I looked on the Mercedes Me app and there's nothing on there for booking faults. Mobilo? I've heard of that but not sure what it even is! I'm obviously in no rush so if I can just drop the car off and they fix it whenever that suits me as it frees up half my garage to spanner motorbikes.

I haven't tested this, but like I said earlier in the thread, many MB dealers are supposed to be open to a limited extent for service and repair. Indeed someone commented he had his car serviced with better than normal service.Dog Star said:

Mercedes' roadside assistance. Probably taking the mick a bit to call them for an a/c fault but in the current weather it would be pretty unbearable driving any distance without a/c.Likely they wouldn't be able to do anything, but the car should get priority if they refer it in, because the scheme provides a like-for-like courtesy car.
I called MB Chelmsford (Jardine) on Monday, the phones had changed and got to a girl in service, I asked her if they were going to contact owners who they had cancelled a service, she said no, I asked when can they service my car, she said late July, No pick ups and no curtesy cars, she was so unhelpful and obviously couldn't give a toss.
I called MB Bishops Stortford (L&L) the lady could not have been more helpful, slight delay if I need a curtesy car or pick up but if I drop off they could do the 9th...……….…...booked,
Jardine's contempt for their customers is infuriating, never again.

MB have extended the servicing to 180 days past the due date.
Dealers are open for all work as far as I know, we are at least. We are still short staffed due to the pandemic, so things are moving a little slower. Current lead time for a courtesy car is a couple of weeks, which is about normal anyway, we've only just been allowed to use them for the first time in ten weeks.
