As per the title really; i was thinking about having DMS remap as it takes bhp to around 730 and torque to around 1000...has anyone here had the upgrade?

Also seems like they can mess about with the exhaust sound...it already sounds like a spitfire but i guess a few more pops and cracks would be handy..

Please let us know if you do this. I have been thinking about the same upgrade when my GLS AMG comes out of warranty

I am guessing you have done your research, so sorry if you know all of this and apologies in advance.

I am guessing this is the 600BHP V8 twin turbo model? I get a little confused with the recent renaming of the Merc range. But jumping from 600 to 730 should be fine and a reputable provider such as DMS should be fine.

I have a C63S and while it has a different engine, I would guess that there are possibly more people modifying them. Well, certainly here in the US at least. Its rated at 503 here in the US and I have been following a couple of forums around mods and performance upgrades. Mines still in warranty for a while, but its good to know what is going on. Certainly the feedback that I could provide is that gentle remaps from reputable vendors that have a track record seem to be solid. The engine & electronics can get very picky if you go too far and end up with all sorts of mis-fires, limp home modes and so on. Its not a hard and fast rule, but many of those who have done the mods here suggest around 10% increase is good and you shouldnt have any issues.

Going beyond this requires more, well certainly for a C63 that is. Headers, cats, intake and coolant system upgrades are usually the next stage. From there, I have seen a bunch of people who have gone for bigger turbos and are getting seriously big power. But the feedback that I see is that a step by step process is needed. A reputable remap should be fine though, and DMS do have a lot of experience. Some less reputable vendors that claim big power gains tend to cause lots of problems and rarely get to where they claim - pretty obvious I would expect, its just the costs of fixing things quickly go off the scale.

One thing that I dont know about is the gearbox though. I get conflicting info on what the C63 can handle. Some people dont upgrade it and get 700+ BHP, but others claim that it needs some work when you get beyond 600. Since the GLS is 4WD, I dont know what it has and what the gearbox is rated for. Might be worth having a conversation with DMS to see what their knowledge is on this subject. I am guessing its a similar 7G-Tronic thing, but AMG calls its the Speedshift in the C63. The 7G (or 9G) is stronger and different, but this is where my knowledge ends.....

Dunno about DMS but MSL have full Mercedes facilities these days and can even update your online service record etc... Might be a safer route if things go wrong later...
