Most reliable 2015-2018 C Class engine / common problems
Discussion
The C220d and C250d are essentially the same 2.1 litre engine in different states of tune. They are generally very reliable, if a bit lacking in refinement compared to the latest generation of engines. The 220d is around 170BHP, the 250d is around 205BHP.
The C200d is a 1.6 and is a bit puny.
I had a 2017 C Class, albeit a C350e and never had any problems with it. My friend has had a C220d since 2015 and that's been fine - he normally changes his car every 3 years on the button but he's kept hold of it because it's been trouble free and a 2018 replacement would have been pretty much identical and the dealer wanted £20k to swap.
The sat nav display graphics on 2015-2016 cars were awful, but these can be upgraded to the later graphics if you have a PC and an SD Card slot.

This is not a problem if you go for a Premium Plus model as they had the much better COMAND nav system.
