I've just been informed my sl55 has a leaking front strut. Im sure I read somewhere that there are now alternatives such as refurbishment. While I start the process of looking on the internet any knowledgable people point me in the right direction?

I know arnott do refurbished struts. If you google them you can find out uk dealers. I have had mine done at PCS in Hampshire.

A lot of people have ended up moving to standard struts/springs (+ARB's!) as per SL350 as once one strut goes the others may not be far behind, and at about £1k per corner, plus issues with bumps and valve blocks they can be expensive if you own them at the time things go wrong. Tavarish (on YouTube) changed his SL55 to springs/struts, if I remember correctly

Hi OP. I don't know the full arrangement of air springs etc on a SL55 but I did just recently change a rear air spring on our Airmatic ML and it was surprisingly easy. And all for the princely sum of £30 (using a non-genuine part). Like I said, you may be looking at more complex problems but my experience is an illustration that repairing some items in Airmatic systems needn't cost the earth.

The SL55 uses ABC, not Airmatic. 2 completely different systems, unfortunately.
