Just phoned for a ‘B’ service cost for my C63, 2013 MY.

From the dealer I got it from, £674.88. 3 hrs away.
Really wanted to keep same dealer stamps in book/ History. No books now.

Another, more local to me, £538.88. 30 mins away.

Only done about 1500 miles since ‘A’ service.

Is it worth getting it serviced if such low mileage since last one.

What are people’s thoughts on this.

Interested in people’s replies on this.

Regards.

Dave.

If you want to keep the service history looking good, every 12 months or per mileage requirements.

Is it too old for a Service agreement, I had my C63s on one for last 3 years and it has only cost me £46.00 per month and I've had 2 B's and 1 A service in that time.

Just phoned local dealer, £46 a month, over 3 years.

£1656.00.

To be honest, whether paying for services as I go, as due big service now, quoted £538.00 for ‘B’ service.

Or, paying for 3 year plan, surely there’s not a lot in it really. 3 big services is about same as the plan. Next service will only be the smaller one.

Or, am I missing something.

Thanks for replies any way chaps, really interesting.

Dave.

Why would you take it to a Merc dealer? It’s nearly 6 years old, out of warranty and they’re very expensive. I’m not sure a full dealer service history as opposed to a specialist adds that much value to a car of that age.

I’d look at what is involved in the B Service - does it include spark plugs, or anything major. In most cases the car’s computer dictate what should be covered in the service. For example, my car’s last B service was an oil and filter change so you have to dig a bit deeper.

In my experience it is the labour charge that is the differentiator. All Merc specialists have access to the same computer systems, genuine parts and expertise. Given the number of different models of cars that Merc have, no one dealer can claim to be a specialist they’re all generalists while a specialist may have more expertise for your type of car.

Either way, you pays your money you take your choice.

Hi Dave, I see you’re in Hampshire, I had my 2013 C63 serviced by Sandown Mercedes in Guildford. It was £454 for the B service.

If you’re not maintaining a warranty just take it to a specialist. They’re better than main dealers and real enthusiasts are on the same page if you ever come to sell.

Reason is, because, when I was looking for one of these I wanted a full Mercedes service history car. So, when I saw this car, it had full Mercedes dealer history from new, all at the same dealer plus one owner who got it from said dealer new.

So, when I come to sell it, having a full Mercedes service history, whether same dealer or not, might make my car a bit more appealing when in the market place.

Like you say, pays your money, takes your choice.

How do non main dealers send in the online service history which is now all held at Merc (or Audi BMW etc)?

Any decent independent will have a full subscription to Xentry (ex STAR) and be able to file digital records.

I know that Prestige (as mentioned above) have, it may be prudent to check others before committing...
