Just test drove a Merc C230k

Not very inspiring in all fairness, it didn't feel fast at all really, but It wasn't running properly, it was a 5 speed manual, should it still give you a shove in the back though?

Dull, dull, dull. I'd expect a 220 Turbo to feel a fair bit faster.

In all fairness, it stopped better and went round the bends better, but the power seemed to be lacking, I think it was a dodgey one. The garage said if I buy it they will get it sorted. It seemed to pick up well at 3k then it struggled to go past 60 in 3rd gear!

I was similarly unimpressed with an SLK230 Kompressor recently.

I was mentally grinning (ok well, smiling faintly) at the idea of unleashing 190bhp in a 2-seater but the instant I did so, I became wincingly disappointed.

Very lacklustre performance delivery, in spite of what the figures say. I can understand why they have a load of V6's with similar power to the fours now.
