Hi all,

I've been offered a fair price on a CLK to buy it but I feel I could wait for a better example and spend a bit more.

Bit of concern with the transmission, seems to drive thru all the gears fine, however we (seller and I) detected a very noticeable clunk in going from D to R and vice versa.

Seller has had a new valve body and a transmission fluid change over the past 12 months and reckons it's always been like that.

Didn't feel right, I've not driven a Merc before but have driven a few automatics.

Any ideas firstly on if this is normal,

secondly what could it be, cost wise to put right?

Cheers

Willber

It could be the gearbox mount is worn. These are cheap and easy to change, is there vibration at idle too?
