New AMG A35 vs AMG A45 S

What are people's thoughts on these cars?

Looking at the A35 AMG but not sure whether to just wait for the A45 S ...

I have heard a few people with the new A35 aren't too happy with the power delivery? Also is it true it's not an actual AMG engine but the A250 engine just tuned up?

What would the difference in fuel consumption between the two cars?

I have owned two A45 I had the non facelift and currently got the face lift version which I have had for last 2.5 years
If you can get the A45s I would because you will always thinking behind the wheel of the A35 if I only had waited

The A45 engine is handmade the A35 is not but I would not get hung up about it they have sprinkled there AMG fairy dust on it though

I have got just under 18 months until my finance deal finishes but I will be going for a test drive in the A45s though ASAP

Took delivery of my A35 five weeks ago and done just over a thousand miles in it. The A35 is a replacement for a Scirocco R (280 BHP FWD) and runs alongside our Range Rover Sport (510 BHP 4WD). Both reasonably pokey cars.

For real world driving the A35 is blistering quick across country and very surefooted. Usually keep it in Sports+. Averaging 30MPG on lanes, B roads, with 40MPG on the motorway runs (in Comfort for use of 7th gear). Thoroughly recommend one! Only thing is it has so much tech inside. Luckily we have a 20 year old neighbour who helps when e.g. I completely lost a Speedo or rev counter on the dash when scrolling through menus .....doh. This car is a tech fest!!!
