2016 SL400, SL500???

Talk to me about the SL400 of the SL500; i'm torn!
My head is saying the SL400 is a great car with TT V6 but my heart is saying an SL should be a V8. I'm not interested in the AMG variants and I've previously had 2 x SL55's back in 02-03
I live in London, I don't need a 4-seater and do 15k miles a year, mostly to France, Holland and Belgium (1-2 times a month).
c.365bhp vs. c.435bhp and real wold differences...?
