There's some on eBay advertised for £1500 fully refurbed, but as I have no idea about the market I don't know if this is a good buy or not.

I'd be looking for the 18" AMG Monoblocks

Thanks!

Is that 1500 with tyres or just for the wheels?

Seems high (without a good set of tyres) to me, but I’m not completely up-to-date on pricing.

While the 18” wheels do look good - I run 18” on one of mine, standard 16” on the other - they do noticeably affect the ride. (Both have had recent suspension refreshes). What the 18” wheels definitely do is “fill” the arches - the standard car looks wrong by comparision.

Ultimate roadholding is noticeably improved - I can go round a corner near to me at 35+ in the 18” wheeled one where the 16” one is an understeery mess at 30 - but that’s as much the 245 & 275 width vs. 225 all around. However, for day-to-day, the 16” wheeled car is much nicer for pottering around in. I guess what I’m saying is that looks aren’t everything - if you can try a car on them for feel before buying (if you’re near Manchester - pm me), it might help you decide whether or not to bother.

Gratuitous pic of them both - I appreciate the Brabus wheels split opinion - personally, I love them, but not everyone does! (I paid 900 for the Brabus wheels - and then 800 for tyres - PS4).

£1500 for single piece 18" mono blocks sounds a bit steep. Also, they were factory fit on only a very few r129s. The correct 17" 3-piece and 18" 2-piece wheels seem to command silly money in good order: £2k to £4k.
