Hi all, I have a rather specific question.

I imported my CLA Shooting Brake to the UK after moving here from Japan and I'm wondering what I can do about the Sat Nav. It has Japanese GPS and all the Japanese maps in the COMAND system, as well as an SD card slot.

Will I be able to use one of those Garmin Sat Nav SD cards on my car?

On a related note, when I connect my iPhone to the car to use CarPlay Maps, the GPS locator is stuck out in Kazakstan or somewhere! Its clearly using the cars in-built GPS (antenna?). Is there any way to use my phones GPS while connected via CarPlay?

Thanks!

Edit: I'm currently just using my phone in a cradle which is fine, but I'd prefer to use it via CarPlay if the Garmin maps option doesn't work/is terrible (from what I've heard).

I wouldn't expect Garmin to work as that upgrade is only for the Audio 20 system. If you're saying your car has COMAND that is a different system to the Garmin card is designed to work with

I'm very surprised you can't use CarPlay though! I've never heard of a regional specific GPS receiver scratchchin

CarPlay in itself works, it’s just an issue with any of the maps apps, Apple, Google, or Waze. I can load them and enter directions, but they all seem to locate the car out somewhere past Kazakstan so I’m never able to calculate directions!
