C63 W204,MCT Manual mode selector not working

Hi guys,
Hoping someone can help here,
I've been out for some spirited drives today, I stopped off for an hour at a friends, went back out, and the mode selector dial wouldn't work, it didn't even light up, I turned the engine off, checked for possible fuses etc, locked/ unlocked the car, and fired it up and it started working again.

I've looked into fuses etc, but I cant even find a fuse reference in the handbook or engine bay/ boot etc so I'm a bit miffed as to what it was, and dealer cant fix an issue that they can't find if its working.
has anybody else had this before?

any help would be great

Happens once in a blue moon. Mine has done this once in the 18 months and 25,000 miles I've had it. Forget about it.

Happened on mine about 18 months ago. Switching off the engine and locking then unlocking the car is what fixed it for me. Car had about 30k on the clock back then. Hasn’t happened again since.
