Anyone id this please?

Hi,

I have a recently bought 2014 C63 AMG, and while looking for the bonnet release catch, I found this plugged in next to it.

I’m guessing it is an OBD? It had a red light on. I didn’t want to unplug it in case it isn’t what I thought it was.

If it is one, I am guessing I can download an app to read the data, is that right?

With the use of a torch I can see it is Mercedes branded, and the slot is obd.

Any idea how I can access the information?

Is it not the Mercedes ME adaptor?

Fitted to earlier versions before it became integrated into the car, it allows you to read certain bits of data on your phone if you have an ME account and the app.

It’s the Mobile Me adapter.

A largely pointless device that provides little useful function but seems to manage to cause issues with other components in the car.

However, if you set up Mobile Me then, even with the adapter removed, you can send a location to COMAND from your phone then access through Personal POIs.

I've got one fitted to my 2011 C63.

It appears to do the square route of fk all.
