Hi, having this issue on my 53 plate C320. I’ve had all abs sensors changed but error still coming up on dash. Don’t really know where to begin looking to fix the problem. Any ideas?

What’s your battery like? After a period of standing idle, our CLS320 would show that message, despite doing a 70 mile run immediately beforehand. The battery was fine until the period of inactivity, but a new battery cured the issue.

Not sure about the 203 but on my 210 it was a brake light switch. About £12 from MB and easy to change so may be worth a punt

Would it be worth taking the car to somewhere like Kwik-Fit to get a battery health check done?

It would be better to take it to a local Mercedes independent specialist who can interrogate the car using STAR.
If you post where you are somebody may be able to recommend a good indie.

If the battery is of any age it may be best you simply replace it. We’ve had the car since new - over 11 years of daily use with no issue, but a few months standing around seeemed to kill the battery, although the car started fine and gave no other indication other than the warning about ABS etc.. If the battery is any more than 8 or 10 years old, and/or the car has sat around for a period, it’s probably best to change it. A new Varta from Tanya batteries was barely over £110.

Of course, it may be nothing to do with the battery, and while Kwik Fit may be of no help, a Star check, as recommended already, will pinpoint it.

I have just had exactly this on a W210 E class - particularly when the headlights were on. New headlamp switch on the dashboard sorted it.

My indy specialist said there were lots of potential causes for that issue...

If the systems are not available, I suspect that they are not being seen on the CAN.

The most obvious cause is that they are not powering up.

Check feeds and earth's first the look at continuity on CAN lines.
