Would you buy ex-demo C63?
Discussion
Hi all,
Am looking at buying a nearly new C63 estate and there's a dealer demo model for sale with a significant discount (with only 237 miles on the clock). I'm sure C63 still need 1000miles running in, which this won't have had but is bound to have been driven hard by staff/test drivers. In addition this car is 200 miles away from me, so whilst it would be covered by a 3yr warranty, if anything did go wrong I'd either have to travel 200 miles to original dealer or take it to the local dealer who may not care so much at helping out as I didn't buy from them. In theory I plan to keep the car for 4+ years.
Would you take the gamble?
Thanks
Tom

4 years ago I bought mine from a MB main dealer unseen or tested. It had 1600 on clock 4 moths old, at 25% discount. Told dealer it had to arrive totally straight as I could drive it around for a couple of weeks and return it for total refund under EU Distance Selling regs even if it had no faults. That focused their minds 😁
Had it delivered to Gatwick airport one day, and I drove it home. Great car. Still enjoying it.

I bought one. I’m the third owner. Previous owner had it for 3 years and I believe it was originally registered as a demo.

Yep, go for it. 237 miles ex demo is nothing in my experience to concern yourself with. Also the Mercedes main dealer network is super in fulfilling any warranty issues and it’s not limited to the dealer you bought from or franchise. This is a main dealer, right?
Good luck and regards, Brin

FYI you could take it to any MB dealer if it faulted, you wouldn't have to take it back to the supplying dealer unless something was found wrong/faulty at point of sale - even then 200 miles I'm sure something could be negotiated.Am looking at buying a nearly new C63 estate and there's a dealer demo model for sale with a significant discount (with only 237 miles on the clock).
