Afternoon,

I sold my W205 C250 two days ago and within 24hrs the COMMAND touch pad (mouse) has decided to only work intermittently.

The new owner lived near to Exeter so initially agreed I would pay for 1hrs diagnostic at Exeter Mercedes.

However I am now thinking it might be better for both of us if I can identify a Mercedes Specialist near to him who maybe able to do the diagnostic and/or fix it at the same time?

Can anyone recommend any places we could book it in with?

The new owner is a mechanic and has looked on YouTube and says if it’s the hardware mouse part he is happy to replace that himself, but wondering if it could be something more simple as it worked perfectly for me over the last year and has worked for him within the last 48hrs as well?

There's a sticky above which lists Merc specialists in the country.

I’ve used MBS for 2 repairs to my daughter’s Mini. An excellent company: polite, competent and generally easy to deal with.

Easily missed.

I'd just bung him some money, make it explicitly clear that it's just a final good will gesture and walk away from it. However, if you do all the donkey work then you are in danger of the new owner calling you up and expecting £££s + effort for whatever else he discovers.

Put it into MB Exeter in the end, MBS had never come across problem as were up front with not really knowing how to diagnose it.

In the end it was firmware update that did it.
