Discount at Merc dealer on £17k car?
Discussion
Depends on:
The car spec
How long they've had it
Whether £17k is a good price for it
Timing in the month/year
Interest from other parties
What the dealer bought it for
etc
etc
In my experience, if you're paying cash, your chances of a discount are smaller as dealers seem to make money from finance deals than trading.
But, as the old saying goes; you can always bid up but not down, so go down there and ask them. Worst they can say is No.

Hi Folks, have never bought from Merc approved main dealer but looking at an E Class convertible and wondering what chance of a discount if any?
Will be a cash buy.
thx in advance.
Have you asked the main dealer? Will be a cash buy.
thx in advance.
Bear in mind that the days of paying in cash and getting a discount came to an end around the mid-90s. The car salesman also doubles as a loan salesman which = double commission.
