Hi, some advice needed.

I have a W210 auto (2001) - if / when I go round a corner maybe slightly more vigorously than normal, I then have acceleration problems. I can put my foot on the accelerator pedal flat to the floor and nothing happens for a few seconds, then a few seconds later it starts to go again. If I stop and restart the car, it is fine.

Is this possible gearbox starvation issue where its low on oil? Or something completely different and how can I fix it?

Any help / advice appreciated. Driving to Scotland Saturday so its not brimming me with confidence.

This could be any of a whole lot of things, I suggest you get it to a dealer and get it read for fault codes.
As a start , is the gearbox oil level correct ?

Not sure, how can I check? It looks like the dipstick is sealed?

you need the long transmission dip stick and then measure it when the gearbox is properly warm.

I think the 'box dipsticks are available from MB, but rather than buying it just get a dealer or independent to check it when you get the fault codes checked.
This could be any one of several faults so don't go throwing money at it until you get some clues where to look.
By the way which engine is it ?
When you say it doesn't accelerate do you mean it has gone into 'limp home' mode ?

There’s a small clip that has to be broken to unlock the cap. If the clip is black, IIRC it means it hasn’t been removed since the factory - red clips are supplied / fitted by the dealer. I bought a dipstick off Amazon for about £10. The level should be checked with the transmission warmed up thoroughly.

Your symptoms are exactly as mine were. Talk to an independent specialist for advice and I am sure that they will recommend a transmission oil change.
The 722.6 unit has a preponderance to leak from a couple of places and mine was leaking; ergo a low oil level!
I added a litre or so and drove to the service guys.
Oil was changed, leak attended to and the transmission was erm, transformed.
I used Prestige Car Service in Waterlooville whom I highly recommend.

I appreciate all the comments. I have found a local transmission specialist so will send to them pronto.
