Warm weather C63
Discussion
Did a 300 mile round trip in mine today. My excuse was "oops...forgot to post a mother's day card"...lolz
Where I'm from, a C63 is a rare sight so the motor gets a lot of attention. Kind of reminds me of when I was a young lad back in the early 90s and there was only one Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth in the town...although...there was a ton of Escort RS Turbos knocking about back then? The Focus ST seems to be the popular car in my home town, I saw loads of them today - none were up for a play...shame.

This thread reminded me how stupid I was for selling mine...I hate you all.
Ps - I don’t really hate you all...I’m just insanely jealous.
ETA - now this thread will keep popping up in ‘my stuff’ because I replied...I may as well have just punch myself in the face...it would hurt less

Ha! yes I do indeed, its a 2012 calcite white saloon, 3 owners, 64k, completely stock and very very beautiful and I am immensely excited about the prospect of tying my sale up with the purchase of it!!!!!
Wife not SO impressed, she said its a 'c*cks' car which I laughed at, then on Sunday whilst out with family a 507 came up behind us and then overtook in the most stupid place possible and she said 'there you go, your going to be like him!' it was difficult to argue because he was a complete k*ob.
But who cares, their the minority and I am now a responsible grown up (apparently!) and cant wait to pick one up. I did see a couple through Mercedes Approved Used for around £2000/£3000 more and was trying to weigh up whether it was worth buying through them for peace of mind and warranty??
From what I can tell the facelift is largely trouble free, keep an eye/ear on idlers but other than that cant really see any inherent problems unlike the E9x M3 which I was considering!!

All kinds of cars are driven all kinds of ways by all kinds of people. I’ve never noticed AMGs being driven proportionally bad outside of the usual knobbishness you might encounter at meet-ups nowadays, since the whole YouTube “leaving an event” phenomena. Don’t let that guide your judgement!

I wanted to buy approved used through Mercedes but ideal spec car came up at a BMW dealership (trade in) so took a punt. No issues as yet. They've a reputation of being fairly bullet proof and, touch wood, so has ours. Peace of mind is nice though.
You will easily pay a 3k or 4k premium by going down the approved used merc route. I did it and not really sure it is worth it, as nothing really has went wrong with mine in the 15 months I've had it. playalistic said:

A few weeks back, I was behind a white C63 Coupe on the A2 just before the turn off for Bexleyheath (mine's a black C63 Coupe). He clocked me behind him and decided to show off which included using the hard shoulder to undertake someone who was in his way...the tw@t threw up a ton of dust and sh*t? 10 minutes later, I then I found myself behind him again outside the Marriott Bexleyheath in slow traffic and he decided to keep revving his engine...to the point that an elderly female pedestrian shouted "f**king stop that"...all rather cringe-worthy stuff.Terzo123 said:

I found the Merc franchised dealers to be awful when it came to a "deal". I bought mine from a Merc Retail dealer (Jan 2016) and they were desperate to shift a C63 which had been on their forecourt for over 4 months. 2 and a bit years old (63 plate) and 10k on the clock (no idea if the previous PCP/Lease owner clocked it). Got it for £36k @ 0% Merc HPI finance with 40% down. Could have bought outright, but the £1k off was dependent on taking the 0% finance. I got a 2 year warranty + 2 year service plan thrown in as part of the deal. It was a 0% HPI weekend with 2 Year Warranty and 2 Year service plan - so I did the deal at just the right time. TBH, they've bent over backwards to sort the minor issues I've had with the car.
When I was looking around at indy car dealers and private sellers, they wanted much more for older examples when compared to what I found at a Merc Retail dealer. Mine's a 2013, and I came across non-Merc dealers wanting £40k for a 2012 and that excluded warranties and service deals.

In answer to some of the points mentioned above.....
Cocks drive all sorts of cars and whilst it is easy to get pigeon holed with a certain type of driver because you also own the same sort of car you will always know you aren't one
My wife was a bit sceptical of me paying close to £40K for my one (507 coupe with rather large spec) but once she heard it she liked it and then she drove it and could see why I wanted one. She has been a passenger in S+ mode with a full bore acceleration but has firmly stated she won't be doing that herself
The cars are almost bullet proof as long as you check the early ones against the head bolt problem list to ensure they have been replaced and you let the car warm up before using the engine fully, the AMG screen on the dash does that for you
If you want to know more about the car drop into the MB Club UK site and read through the AMG Lounge:
https://forums.mbclub.co.uk/
The PH buying guide is also a good read and helps when looking at examples. Don't be scared of high mileage cars as the engines are extremely reliable but do check for service history as some are missed due to costs and/or sold just before they are needed. A "B" service can be £900+.
I've had my one 9 months now and it still makes me smile whenever I open the garage door, and I grin like an idiot when I start it.
Should have bought one years ago
