Mercedes C350 Alloy Wheels Corrosion - Best Method to Clean
Discussion
Hello all, I have had this issue with my Mercedes Alloy Wheels for quite some time, the have like a milky corrosion which I believe to be under the lacquer finish, also the alloy does not appear totally smooth and has small lines if I look closely.
Just wondering if anyone here has any idea`s for the best method for removing such corrosion on the exposed alloy parts of the wheels ?
Here is a quick video I knocked up to show the situation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dknyqIWDSw&t=...
Huge thanks for any feedback.
Thanks

This is a very common problem with this types of wheel.
Worryingly, you suggested that you might use emery paper on your alloys.
DON'T DO IT!!
Take your wheels along to a wheel refurbishment centre and let them have a look.
They look like diamond turned finish and there is probably a protective lacquer over the top.
Moisture has got underneath the lacquer and making them appear milky white.
A specialist can remove the protective film, clean up the alloy and re-lacquer them....for a price.

Hello and thanks for your reply, I was hoping it was something I could personally do myself to keep costs down but from your reply maybe not possible.
Thanks for the feedback.
Much appreciated
I got the wheels on my W221 refurbed for precisely this same reason - only cost £210 and they now look perfect. No way I could have done it myself. Thanks for the feedback.
Much appreciated

Very common with modern Mercedes alloy wheels - and it's pretty much inevitable. I clean my alloys frequently with non-acidic ph-neutral cleaner and decent brushes and sponges, and protect them afterwards, and they still go like this after a while. Just stand further away from your car when you're looking at it.....;)
