A/C Condenser gone on my SL.

New one from Merc is £785.

Loads of pattern parts available, but generally don't like pattern parts. Anyone got any good experiences with third party condensers? Any recommendations?

might be worth a double check if pattern is available for the SL55 I say this as.................
I've got an R171 SLK55 and places like ebay list air con condensors as multiple fit across a lot of mercs including SLK55 but it is only smaller engine'd SLK's where it is a common part. The SLK55 has a special model specific A/C condenser due to the tighly packed engine bay. This model specific A/C Condenser is only available from MB, no pattern parts exist for it.

As is say you might be okay and the SL55 A/C condenser is not specific to the SL55.

I think IIRC the A/C condenser was £350 so yours seems steep at £700plus.

Cheers, that's my exact worry. Loads say will fit all R230 SL models but the part numbers for the SL350 and SL55 are different so how can the pattern part be universal? Think I'll just have to put a genuine one in.

You are going to need someone to vacuum and refill your system even if you fit the new part, so why not ask them the question about patern parts. They should have experience of any issues.

Give Alpinair ( Hanger Lane) a call.
