Was wondering what consumables you use and how fast you use them up.

Tyres and pads.

Added camber to the front to help the fronts last longer?

Thanks

I had a quick look but couldn’t find it the thread I was looking for but there is a thread that, very recently, talks exactly about your question.

I only did a few seconds of a search but it was dicecusses within the last few weeks.

Sorry for the vague reply smile

I did a handlijng day at north wear last year, on the hottest day of the year. My conti's were shredded, but still had about 4mm grip, but had chunks hanging out of them. Brakes and pads did very well, they cool well and are strong 6 pots up front and 4 pots at the rear. So all all, the biggest cost was the tires when i replaced them for mich ps4's about 700 quid all around plus fuel there and back 70, and on the day about 2 tanks at 70 each.

Yes the conti’s got big chunks out after a single trackday.

I’ll change for mps4s on the 19’s and cup 2 on the 18. But only if I can get say 5 days out of them.

Same for the brakes. Stock replacement is about 350 but they didn’t last long in terms of ware. Pedal was fine. Only options I see are rs29 at 1k a set or ebc blue who I have not been impressed with in the past @ 300. Cl rc5 maybe but who supplies these now?

5 days out of tyres and brakes might be asking too much of a heavy car. But also Silverstone with its high speed corners will be quite punishing.

If anyone has experience I’d like to here it. I don’t want to blow 2k on consumables for 2 trackdays. I could get another car for that smile

I think adding some camber to the front would improve the tyre ware significantly. Anyone changed this?

I can see merc do camber bolts which adds 0.3 deg. Not sure that would be worth 200 quid. 100 for bolts and 100 for an alignment.

Just want to enjoy the car on track every now and again as it’s too fast for the road really without it costing me a grand each time in consumables smile
