Hi Folks

I took my car down for a valet and the guys fiddled with the electric seats aand now the drives seat wont go back or recline. I had to remove the seat cushion and manually wind the motor back so i could drive home.

The seat will go forward and the and the head rest goes up etc but when i push the back there is just a click in the back of the seat but the motors won't go the other way.

I've tried to reset the seat by powering down the battery for 20 mins and there was some advice on another site about motoring it all the way forward then holding the button for a few seconds in the forward then back position but if that doesn't fix / resolve i then needd to manualy wind in back which takes about 15 mins.

The seats don't have the memory position function. I need this to work as its now part of the MOT test and mine is due this month

Many thanks

Thanks for the reply , i've just been investigating the clicking sound and its the rake adjustment control at the end of its travel and it seems to operate when i try to move the seat backward which might indicate the switch system is sending the wrong command. How easy is it to get the switch out

Thanks

I fitted a stereo & speakers to my 500 over Christmas. After putting it all back together, I had seat problems, because the plug for the seat adjusters on the door had been put back together incorrectly by this idiot...

Maybe when valeting they took them out to get a clean edge for the trim?

Takes about 2min to check - plenty of you-tube videos to show you how to take the 2 trim pieces out to get to it.

HTH.
