W176 vs W177 (A Class) Chasis

Anyone driven the new A class? How does it fair with the previous generation? I read something about a stiffer body (aluminium plate beneath car) and strutting under the bonnet.
Last month we had an A200 AMG as a courtesy car. It felt great to drive. I have never experienced that level of control and handling in a hot hatch - compared to M140i and Golf R.
The 10” wide display and upgraded command was a welcome improvement. Not as intuitive as BMW iDrive but a pleasure to use nonetheless.
Anyhow, I have never driven an A45 before and wonder if anyone has owned/driven both the new and previous models?
I could well be swayed into downgrading from an E400 to a A35 or even the new A45 if it follows later this year.
