Does anyone have real world experience of running one for a while?

What is the real world MPG?

I have driven the older 5.5 version and it was effortless, the newer model has slightly more power will supposedly do 30mpg on a run.

I will be changing from a BMW 640d that is a very nice car but dull to drive.

I've got the same engine in my E500 Cabrio but making 410bhp rather than 430 odd in the CL500.

I can get 33 - 35 mpg on steady motorway run or 30mpg on an A/B road run.

The CL500 is heavier than my E500 but I reckon it sounds feasible to get 30mpg if you go easy with it.

Thanks for the reply, have you considered a remap to close to 500bhp?

It's got a Mercedes Tier 1 extended warranty until August but after that I'm thinking it might be a good idea.....

I reckon it will need a LSD fitted first though.

It would be rather amusing to have a 500bhp car that doesn't really look any different to the 2 litre diesel models.
