New C200 problems
Discussion
Just switched from a BMW 330e M-Sport to a new C200 (it's a convertible AMG Line so not as bad as it maybe sounds). Had the car for just under 2 weeks and twice now on driving off from start the car seems rev limited to maybe 1000/1500 rpm and wont go above approx 15 MPH and I've had to pull over and re-start the car. 1st time was pulling off from a hand car wash and thought I'd done something wrong with park/handbreak etc. while the car was being washed, but 2nd time was a cold start and same thing happened. Luckily neither were in a situation where it was dangerous. I'll ring Mercedes tomorrow but wondered if this is a known issue or there's an obvious thing I'm doing wrong
As a PS - whole delivery experience was really poor from Mercedes, car arrived very dirty after being driven 250 miles, thimble of fuel left, windscreen not clean on the inside, no follow up to activate Mercedes app as promised etc. This was Exeter - are they all that bad ?

If it's anything like my experience, you'll be trading it within 18 months and finding something more reliable.
Although it seems the dealer experience for any "premium" German marques is consistently poor IME, luckily the A3 that replaced my 66 plate SLC hasn't put a wheel wrong (yet!) .

Had you pressed speedtronic(set to 20mph) by mistake?
thanks that is possible I guess as the cruise control / limit is on the steering wheel in the same place as the BMW media controls I'm used to, will try to do it deliberately to replicate and see if I can turn it offTonycv51 said:

Car gets driven 250 miles in December on dirty, salty, grimy roads and gets dirty shocker ! Given its new, and ownership 2 weeks you'd get a better resolution speaking to the supplying dealer than asking on an open internet forum - just saying. As a PS - whole delivery experience was really poor from Mercedes, car arrived very dirty after being driven 250 miles, thimble of fuel left, windscreen not clean on the inside, no follow up to activate Mercedes app as promised etc. This was Exeter - are they all that bad ?
You could also say that knowing that a new car is going to be dirty when it gets to the customer (due to the time of year) that the dealership could have googled a hand car wash near the OP 's address and sent the driver there to get it cleaned up before delivering it.
Mercedes seem to have two levels of service, shocking and can't fault it, with not much in between, when you find a good dealer stick with them and the service is great, I won't use my local one if I don't have to, I take it back to the dealer I bought it from (which is a 200 mile round trip) rather than get fobbed off by a service advisor in a suit (or spun a tail as to what needs doing)
BWM were also poor, as were Audi when we had one of those, perhaps we were just unlucky, they seem to come across as if they are doing you a favour letting you have your car serviced with them.

Yep. Like a Lexus. Better cars, better service, better reliability. Just better. Although it seems the dealer experience for any "premium" German marques is consistently poor IME, luckily the A3 that replaced my 66 plate SLC hasn't put a wheel wrong (yet!) .
