Hi all

Is anyone running an estate or saloon version of these?

Is premium plus a must have?

Be keen to know if anyone has moved across from a 335i or 340i etc and could give a comparison?

Cheers

We have a c43 saloon (the new one) really like it. My brother in law has a BMW 440. Fairly similar cars, main pros of the c43 are its faster and sounds better.

We got a C43 estate (s205) earlier in the year and I’m a big fan. We ordered the premium pack, not premium plus, and the only thing I regret is that the speakers in our pre-facelift model were a bit rubbish. However you can upgrade them for a lot less than the cost of “plus”, so would do the same again.

I came from a 440i Coupe, then an 18 plate C43, and now a 68 plate facelifted C43 Coupe. Which C43 are you looking at?

The C43 has a far nicer interior and feels more quality.

It makes a lot more noise in Sport+ than the 440i, although it can be a bit jerky in Sport+. (The facelift is much better for being smooth).

It's definitely a level up from the 440i in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies...

I’m looking at a 17-18 plate estate, when did the face lift happen?

I considered one but went from 340i to M4 in the end.

The wheel crabbing on the C43 wasn’t something I could live with. only think it affected the coupe, have they solved it now?

Just got rid of a C63 which has the V8 bi-turbo engine. So will just throw my two penny-worth out there..... Build quality was appalling, brakes squealed like crazy and the running was terrible however it was capable and practical (I did 28000 miles in 15 months).

I think deliveries for the facelift started 3-4 months ago.

Has certainly not been an issue on my estate (delivered in Jan).

68 plate. Digital dash, nicer rear exhausts and old C63 grille on the front.

Nope, my 18 plate had the smaller wheels and i didn't get it at all, my 68 plate has the larger wheels and crabs loads.

I looked up crabbing and it sounds horrendous. Do they all do it or is it solved by avoiding a certain size wheel/tyre?

All the ones I have seen have the standard non digital dash.

The c43 is a very attractive package, amazing performance, 4 wheel drive, good spec... I have had five bmw in a row now so do fancy a change of scenery but at the cost of potentially a crabbing and poor build quality car isn’t a great proposition as suggested above.

What MY was it? My 2017 coupe has done 10k miles and has been absolutely perfect in every regard.

Same here - not a single issue with mine since I’ve had it.

The larger alloys do it, the standard sized alloys did't do it at all on my 18 plate one.

Also noticeably worse in the winter.

Tbh, I dont find it that annoying. It's only when you've got the wheel on full lock when turning e.g. in a car park.

Had a 2015 and 2017 saloon. The second was a replacement of the 2015 car by MBUK on account of the issues I had....

I had had two bmws at that point and passed on the C43 and went M4, M135 and now in a 640i. If they solved it I would have a coupe for sure, they are very nice looking but the crabbing on the test drive did my head in and I know it annoy me on a daily basis.

That being said can anyone confirm its just the coupe??

Our new Facelift C43 is great. First ever a Mercedes and very impressed. Quick, loads of spec and great to drive.

We went for the Premium plus pack, adding the AMG performance seats, 19” AMG wheels and carbon interior also.

Crabbing is an issue but I find my Cayenne does it and so did my previous SQ5 and my wife’s previous S5, so no real issue for me.

Ok my 2p worth.
Was loaned a c63 normal coupe whilst still having my m4. The m4 is faster in a straight line and noticeably more Agile on a and B roads.
That’s a fact.
I’ve now also had a go in a c63s and yes it is a bit faster than the m4.
So you simply cannot compare a slow c43 with an M4. By the way I am a long term Mercedes owner !

My m4 is almost full spec so was disappointed when getting in to the merc to find it didn’t have several things like self park, head up display, horrible ash wood dash etc. It also has plastic made leather everywhere versus my m4 that has leather dash and leather doors (admittedly these are extra ). I also cannot believe things like the plastic door lock button was the lowest quality plastic in the merc versus a higher quality on the Bmw. That should Not be right it should be the Bmw that is cheaper made especially as it is a cheaper car !

The only way to fault the m4 is that it’s coming up for a replacement. But for circa 50k I frankly cannot look at a c63 as a better purchase.
