Hi all, I'm currently considering an SL63AMG with the 5.5L Biturbo engine. I've previously owned an E63AMG with the same engine and miss it massively. I'd also like to buy my first convertible car so this combines two wants.

I have some questions if anyone is in the know?

1) There seem to be two variations of the car, non performance pack and performance pack. I can see the power difference is approx 30bhp but what other differences does the performance pack bring?
2) I notice that 2015 cars have 577 bhp, is this the only difference from earlier cars or are there other differences too?
3) My old E63 had approx 550bhp but from what I can see even the 537bhp SL63 has more torque than the E63AMG, what is the reason for this? I assumed the same lump but seems weird?

Thanks

Perf pack has the LSD so definitely worth it if you can find one.

My SL has the PP and is rated at 577bhp.
I think you also get LSD, red brake calipers, carbon fibre spoiler, carbon interior(?), raised top speed, performance steering wheel, carbon engine covers.
I don't think much changed, other than a power hike, between launch in 2012 and the facelift in 2016.

Is the SL63 quite similar in price to a GT?

Sorry, slightly exaggerated the power - its "only" 557....

Similar money to a 2016 SL63 would net you an S63 coupe. Although the SL is lovely, and I've always wanted one, I find myself after the coupe AMG now in search of something sublime.
