Unbiased view from a long term and loyal MB owner.
We considered buying one to replace our previous generation A class where it lives alongside CLS, SL and C class cars, plus some Italian exotica; I will admit that I am hash in my critique of cars.
New A class: tried, tested, rejected.
Interior from B pillar back is an improvement over the outgoing model = now there’s visibility.
However, the cockpit, dashboard, steering wheel are fugly and sport seats uncomfortable.
Build quality worse than previous model.
And the increased use of electronics is never a good thing with Mercedes... they really do struggle with anything software based.
In short, a car I was happy to get out of and not to get back into.

Mine (A180 AMG-line) is currently at build stage, delivery due February.
I thought it was head and shoulders above the alternatives in interior design, quality and simply being a nice place to be. You do however get far fewer options than other manufacturers provide, unless you pay more, much more.
