Advice please - New Merc broken!
Discussion
Morning all.
I had a brand new Mercedes GLE 250D delivered last month after seeing the very good lease deals mentioned here on PH.
Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience! We noticed patches of oil on our block paved driveway which we thought was coming from our builders van, however two weeks into ownership I was shocked to find that it was coming from the GLE.
I had the car recovered and supposedly 'fixed' at the dealership, which took 10 days. I was told it was caused by a faulty oil seal on the engine, and they had to drop the gearbox out to get to it. It must have been a fault from the factory.
I got the car back three days ago, but yesterday noticed fresh patches of oil on my driveway again. I had the car recovered again yesterday and was told that I could phone up for a hire car to be delivered to my address. I called the number and was told that there are none available as all of Europcar are closed, unless I can make my own way to Gatwick airport to collect a Toyota Yaris.
I've now been stuck at home all weekend with no car, a driveway covered in oil which is impossible to get out as it's soaked into the permeable bricks, and I cannot get to work tomorrow. I am not impressed and at a bit of a loss as to what to do. All of Mercedes seems to be closed apart from their Sales teams.
Your advice would be appreciated. I am at my wits end now and thinking of rejecting the car.
