A205 soft top tapping noise - a characteristic of the car?

SO 4 WEEKS LATER:

“Your vehicle has undergone extensive testing and extended test drives to ascertain all faults and fully rectify these; I have the following information from our workshop as a result:
· We have fixed the rattles in the front of the vehicle and doors. We installed additional sound damping material at the contact points on both front door trims and replaced the retaining clips.
· We have confirmed the elastic plastic noise in the roof mechanism and jerky transmission in sport plus are characteristics of the vehicle itself.
· Unfortunately, we have not been able to re-create the noises from the NS seat belt extender or the brakes.
· The diff oil has been changed free of charge for you.
—————— most annoying answer is about soft top, MB says its characteristics of car but don’t give me c43/c63 to compare against to prove them wrong. Anyone else experience “rain sound” tapping or elastic plastic slapping against one another while soft top up? Ive driven from bwm/audi/benz cabrios to masarati/porsche cabrios and none of them ever made such noise, any can help find out what it is please?
Currently I refuse to take car back until they fix that soft top issue, which they obviously aren’t happy about.
