Can i drop the sump with engine in car

Is this the one that was on a well known auction site?

If it were me then I would drop the oil and see if there are any debris in it.

If it is clear then off with the heads and start checking from the top down over.

Sounds like a good project if you have the time and the funds to make it what it should be.

Hope it is a easy (ish) fix.

Yea....one and the same car for the price I factored in another engine but will save this one if it's practical

Pretty much the plan is to borescope #4 And see if anything nasty occured...

If the scope shows a messed up bore then another engine but if clean then may be just the one piston and rings and anything I've got to do to the head

At a guess I'm thinking it must be possible to drop the sump in situ and pull the head in order to pull a piston and rod

A good project that I knew I would be spending money on
