Recommended Mercedes Specialists within 100 miles of Corsham

Good morning ladies & gents

I posted a similar question regarding my air cooled Porsche and received such helpful responses I am now posing the same question for my R107 Mercedes SL500. I would like to find a great specialist to look after every aspect of the car who is within approximately a 100 mile radius of Corsham, Wiltshire. I only bought the car earlier this year and by all accounts it is exceptional and I´d like the best care and attention for what I hope is many years to come.

Might anyone here strongly recommend a specialist with a great reputation and history who is adept with these particular models please ?

Steve at Avantgarde Automotive based in Clevedon comes highly recommended on most of the Mercedes forums. Knows his stuff and has worked on most models.

If Stratford upon Avon's not to far then you have The SL Shop who, as their name suggests, are specialists on the R107

Thanks. I am aware of SL Shop but they are slightly too far (although Stratford Upon Avon would be nice to visit I guess), thus I was wondering if there was anyone closer. I shall look into these guys in Clevedon.

MBS Mercedes in Southampton are highly recommended.

They've looked after my SLK for the past 2 years and their service has been superb. Easy to deal with - they understand that as a car enthusiast you are actually interested in the work they do and are happy to explain. They always phone me before starting any remedial work.

I've seen a wide range of cars being worked on including top end AMGs. I've seen full engine rebuilds there too. All of the mechanics I've spoken to are super helpful, super keen and are very thorough.

They have a small fleet of 'classic Mercedes' courtesy cars which can make one feel all nostalgic! In reality, this means that dropping your car off and collecting it is really easy....

I've seen several SLs in there and they seem to know their stuff.

You could try TM Motors in Molesey.. about 90 miles away but down M4/M25/M3

Used them for years and would recommend, they specialise in MB

I went to a place in bath called SJB MOTOR SERVICES in Bath, was very good VFM and the whole experience was good and professional.

I have been using Parkway in Bristol for a number of years very successfully. They, too, often have some very interesting AMGs etc in for work.

PCS in Horndean are probably just about within radius (about 75 miles) from Corsham. Not yet used them but about to send my freshly imported C55 there when it lands from Japan later this month; I'm just down the road from Corsham (Whitley).

Seem to have a good reputation on Mercedes forums and have been pleasant to deal with so far....

I know PCS very well and would certainly recommend, just that they seemed a bit far out for the OP?

Independent MB specialist. Fine for simple and routine stuff.

Guys I cannot thank you all enough for chiming in with your ideas. I have been away for a few days hence my apparent lack of gratitude, but trust me, all of these responses are valued.

I think I will focus first on Avant Garde Automotive in Clevedon, then perhaps look at PCS in Horndean, which is much further away but as stated above, within my prescribed radius. MBS Mercedes in Southampton might be third on the list simply due to proximity, and I shall certainly keep SJB Motor Services in Bath, Parkway in Bristol, TM Motors in Molesey and Robin Lamb in Gloucester in the back pocket as back ups.

Anyone else, feel free to chime in, the more info the better.

I actually decided on these guys in Clevedon as Steve sounds like the man for the job. Stratford Upon Avon is not easy for me logistically to return by train, otherwise I might have gone for them instead. Thanks again.
