C63 W205 switchable exhaust alternatives
Discussion
Hi
Looking to get into a used C63 S and having real difficulty find the right spec I want with the switchable exhaust (because I’m essentially a child and I like loud things....).
Is there any workaround in a car without the switchable exhaust that enables you to open up all of the flaps in the system all of the time (like having the switchable system). I read somewhere that if you have it in Sport+ Mode this does this but does it also mean the rest of the settings are also set up max? Or is there an alternative way (without buying an aftermarket exhuast)?
Have asked dealers and there about as much use as a chocolate teapot...

The performance/sports (switchable) exhaust is always ticked on the coupe here, the saloon makes it an optional extra.
The switchable exhaust still keeps flaps closed under 3k RPM so you miss a bit of that lower down rumble, however I and others have installed the ASR module that comes equipped with a key fob to control the flaps. Basically I keep mine open at all times and you definitely notice the difference. Regardless - you only get the pops & bangs in sport+ or race modes - when equipped with the performance exhaust.
There are a bunch of aftermarket options for switchable exhausts though it's probably just easier if opting for a saloon to make sure the box is ticked if you're searching the classifieds or optioning from new.

This might not be possible but worth a look -
Is it possible to use the 'individual' setting to set the engine to 'sport' or 'sport+' whilst setting the other parameters to non sport?
Yes, that's also what I've done. My 'individual' setting ramps the engine/gearbox/TC up to max and leaves the dampers in comfort. Is it possible to use the 'individual' setting to set the engine to 'sport' or 'sport+' whilst setting the other parameters to non sport?
Hi
Just got a March 2017 C63S Coupe and its amazing car to drive. Love the sound
Any thoughts on making the exhaust louder with these remote controlled vale control aftermarket systems? They seem to be £5-£7k from my research but do they fundamentally change the entire sound? Im just looking for a very loud system for every now and then. I have seen a system from Armytrix which look well considered.
The exhaust is amazing as it is, but I want to keep this car as collector item for ages to come and with new sound laws etc I want to get in and give myself the option for 'ludicrous' sound mode while I can.
Thanks for the help all. Happy motoring!
