The electronic steering lock has a quirk.
If in putting on the lock ,that is if you stop the car and take out the key ,the steering locks.

If the steering is under tension ,for example on a hill downwards and the wheels are turned to left or right, and the steering wheel is under tension .The ignition will not go on again.

I repeat the ignition will not go on.putting the key in the slot and turning it will not bring up the lights and the starter motor will not be engaged.

Solution .Grip the wheel and turn to right or left to release tension and this will cure the issue.

This information is not in the instruction book

This is not unusual, I have experienced this on a lot of cars I have had over the years. Not experienced it on my 212 though, but I rarely engage the steering lock to try.
