SLK GPS Failure
Discussion
I'm asking for my niece. She had to stop driving for a couple of months due to a broken ankle so the car was unused. Now she's driving again everything seems ok except that the GPS isn't working. Could this have cut out as the battery must have drained?
My BMW does similar if I leave it for a while but I get a warning saying that some stuff has been temporarily disconnected to save the battery. After a few days it all comes back to life.
Any views?

I assume you mean the sat nav rather than being able to get a fix on GPS? If it is the Becker Map Pilot (little back box in the glove compartment), it has a replaceable battery that may have gone kaput. My BMW does similar if I leave it for a while but I get a warning saying that some stuff has been temporarily disconnected to save the battery. The system all came back to life after a day or so. Just like BMW except the BM tells you what’s happening.
