E350 CDI What year had 265bhp?
Discussion
My wife's 62-reg E350 was the 265bhp model. Subsequent models dropped a bit to incorporate the AdBlue evolution. Her 67-reg GLC350 is 255-ish bhp - same engine but with AdBlue, known as Bluetec. The E350 was BlueEfficiency and didn't have AdBlue.
My 61-reg GL350 is a BlueEfficiency with 265bhp too. No AdBlue.

They detuned to 248 for emissions with the 2014 facelift, but to be honest you probably won't notice the difference in performance.
The E400 is the 3 litre twin turbo petrol with 333 ish bhp, and sub 6 sec to 60. I think they only produced that as a 2 door coupe and I would love one.
Might be my next car.

Thanks for the info chaps.
I had an estate on a 60 plate then a Cab on a 63 plate, both new. The interior of the 63 plate was far superior to the 60 plate, so was hoping to combine the face lifted interior with the 265bhp, clearly not possible.
The E400 is an option as my annual mileage is less than 12k.
I run a ‘95 E320 sportline cab during the summer months and enjoy the smoothness of the in-line 6 cylinder petrol engine!!!!
I guess the only solution is back to back test drives of the two.

It was/is confusing because I think that the coupés/cabs received the 265 engine slightly later than the saloons.
As posted earlier, the earlier engine was 231bhp. I thought that the 265 coupé/cab came in approx late 2011, but might be wrong on that point if others know they were out prior to that.
I think the change coincided with the change from hockey-stick to straight front DRLs. I also believe the later 7g+ gearbox with stop/start came in at the same time. I had a 2012 265 coupé and when I was looking at them (2012), the earliest 265 coupe/cabs I saw in the dealers were on 61 plates.
The 265 engine had a number of changes internally (pistons, different fuel rail pressure etc etc) and different dpf regeneration parameters. Dash display also changed to a more coloured version and the Comand internal memory was upgraded, from 6GB to 10GB IIRC.
There was another facelift around 2013, when they moved the clock to the centre of facia but the 265 was definitely out before that.
The engine numbers on 265s were changed, I think they had LS or similar added, ie something like OM642LS, but a search might confirm that.
