I've got conti's on there at present, but after a bit of a track day yesterday i'm going to need some new tires pretty shortly - got about 2mm left which wont last me long. Im thinking pilot sport 4's but if anyones got any better experience then please suggest, thanks.

It depends upon your usual driving environment, fast road, fast track, budget you have and annual distance.

Yoko AD08R. Awesome tyre. I’ve yet to run them on my 63 but they’ve been great on every other car I’ve used them on.

I can recommend Yoko Advan Sports. Besides being a great all round tyre (no pun intended) they also wear very well. I got 16k miles out of the rears and 28k out of the fronts and in both cases still had 2mm+ remaining when I changed them.

Don't think he is questioning the vehicle but the amount of miles per set of rubber

Won't get anywhere near those miles in a C 63.

No, I'm. Open to the idea of about 4k per set

Yep. That seemed like astronomical mileage for a C63, on a single set!

Well it's true and I don't drive like a grandmother either. Nor am I a loon.

Absolutely not!

I had Advan Sport tyres on my C63 when I bought it last December and the wet/cold weather grip is pants. They also don't last well.

I've now switched to PS4S having had PS4 before on a Z4 Coupe and they are just better in every way. More dry grip, lots more traction in the wet, commonly reported as wearing better on the C63 than other brands and more comfortable over rough roads.

PS: If you've still got an open differential do yourself a favour and get a Wavetrac fitted, makes a big difference.

Yep, on a 63. I ran them on a 470hp STi and they were awesome. If they last 4K on the rears, it’ll be worth it.

I plan to change the rears for Contis again as they’re worn out but next year when I can justify also binning the fronts, I’ll be going for a set of AD08Rs.

I’ll let you know how I get on. In a year.

On a side note, is there a wear difference between 18" and 19" wheels?

I really want to drop a size to improve ride quality, if I can.

Cheers all, useful thread.

The Conti 5P’s are streets ahead of the previous generations, but the PS4’s are said to give more steering feel (I haven’t tried the latter).

Running Yoko Advan sports on my C63 and wear is good so far.

So much so I'm considering them again when I need to change.
