Can any one tell me which Nox sensor is known as bank 1.

Have fault code P2202

In the exhaust there are 2 sensors. Is bank 1 the one closer the engine or closer to the rear of the car?

Thanks

Bank will refer to the cylinder banks - left or right. Bank 1 will be the one cylinder 1 sits in - the nearest cylinder to the radiator.

Yes I know that.

But the Nox sensors on this system are not on the banks. There in the main system. There are 2 sensor one near the front and other half way along the car.

Be t the generic reader shows it as bank 1.

Is it an ML350 or an ML350 cdi?

This code is thrown up all the time with poor fuel, Sainsbury fuel will always throw it up on my E350.
There was a software update in the States that stopped it happening unless the fuel is really crap, in other words made it less sensitive.

Fill up with Shell again and it will go out.

its a 350 cdi bluetec etc

The light has been on and off for 7/8 months now.

It has always been filled up at the same ASDA in the 2 years we have owned it.

Might try the local shell garage see if it makes a difference first.

It is going up for sale soon so i just want to get it sorted before it goes.

Disconnect the sensor, re-check the fault memory for Nox sensor X open circuit bank X.

Run the car for a little while with it unplugged, it'll flag up eventually. Sometimes the ECU needs to try & use it to realise it's not there.

Failing that a quick phone call to the dealer will be able to identify which is which off EPC.

Hi Craig,

Sorry to reopen this old thread,
I am thinking of getting a 2012 ML350cdi done 70k miles.

Just after your thoughts and experience as an ex owner?

Thanks
