Collected my 2010 E250 at the weekend. Absolutely love the car but one frustration is that I can't stream music through the stereo. There is phone connectivity as it makes / answers calls perfectly and I assumed there would be a simple software upgrade to enable this. However, after speaking with MB it appears this is not the case.

Is there any kind of a workaround for this? Seems very odd the car doesn't even have an auxillary / USB connection. I hold my entire music collection on Spotify and got rid of CD's years ago. I'm not even sure if it will play MP3 discs..

Is there no AUX socket in the glove box or arm rest?

I fitted a Tunai Firefly Bluetooth receiver in my 2009 CL, plugged in to the AUX socket in the glove box and powered from a 12v socket in the same place. Works brilliantly and is incredibly simple to use.

Theres a strange socket in there which I figured you can buy an adaptor for to turn it into an ipod / jack connection. I can plug in my phone that way so will see whether that does the job.

There is a setting in the engineer menu to turn on bluetooth audio streaming, however, it depends on what firmware version you are on whether it works or not.

If not you can buy the media interface cables and a Tunai as mentioned above.

This will hook you up for bluetooth music while still hooking up to the car phone.

Yup - mine has a couple of adapters with it, one of which is a standard USB socket so I can plug a memory stick in.

Is this the correct part number?

Pretty sure our GL had a plastic bag in the car from new with these three adaptor cables in. Gives iphone, USB and audio jack input, the last one wrong with the Firefly above.

Sorry to resurrect, but if anyone else is in the same boat with this issue I thought it may be of help.

I basically found no way of streaming music to the stereo system. MB confirmed my software couldn't be upgraded to accommodate this (although I am not entirely convinced the person I spoke to was that interested). So I purchase this lead:

Works a treat! The only annoyance is having to trap the glovebox on the cable but I can live with that.

You could get one of these, these will act the same but wirelessly.
