S212 load cover pin jammed in mount

The load cover will not release in my E220 estate. Back seats go down, press button on near side of load cover body releases, but the pin which sticks down the way on the offside cover body stays put.
It looks like it has been put in wrong the last time it was taken out as the cover seems to 'float' slightly above the mounting point. Any ideas on getting this thing out?

my w212 estate was the same, right mare, basically its buggered, the release catch is broken..

either leave it or bust it out


used ones are about £150 on the bay of E
