Hello every one. I have been wanting to buy a Mercedes benz clc220 for some time. I have found one from a dealer it currently has 52k miles the price was 5.5 dropped down to 5k now. My question is when I look through the mot history online i spotted on 7th September 2015 the mot test was done no advisories the following month 19th October 2015 another test was taken and passed again with no advisories. Why would the car need 2 tests in 1 month and both passed with no advisories?? Looking at the mot the car has done 5k every year only year 2016-2017 car has done 10k last test shows 52k which means the car hasn't been driven since November last year. Should I be worried? Thank you in advance

Did it have a change of owner at the time of the MoT in October?
Car sold with new 12 month MoT is quite common.

Could it have been stopped and checked by Police or DVSA and issued a prohibition for emissions or dangerous defect, needing a new MOT to clear the prohibition?

Some buyers are swayed by 12 months MOT and put off by 10, yes seriously. If you go ahead with the purchase are you happy with the less than 12 months MOT or will you request the car goes through yet another 3rd MOT test in less than 12 months ? you cant have it both ways .

Yeah I'd imagine it either changed hands, or someone listed it for sale and ended up not selling.

I've had several used cars now with weird MOT histories because sellers have insisted on putting a new one on. My TT had it's first done when it was only 2-years and 2-months old to make it seem a more attractive buy silly

If we get a car in to retail, first thing we do is test it regardless, it's peace of mind for us to know it's spot on before it goes on the pitch and if someone wants to buy and go it is all ready.

Thank you everyone I believe is this right here after test driving the car on start up the car sounded very rough. I tested another car it was not as noisy (I know Diesel engines are noisy) The engine had work done to it, even though he didn't tell me I noticed the bolts and definitely had the coils changed at some point. The car was advised as having full service that wasn't the case last stamp was 32k. Still on the look out thank you again guys much appreciated
